ALLOWLIST REVIEWS FAQ

How do I leave a review?

Each product and service offering page has a review tab underneath the description. Clicking the review tab, you will be presented with the review screen where you can submit your review. You will be asked to provide an email address, the star rating and the comments that you want to leave.

Alternatively, you can email your review direct to stuart@allowlist.io and an ALLOWLIST Moderator will create the review for you.

Companies that have reviews they wish to (re)use can submit them and an ALLOWLIST Moderator will create the review for you.

Can I use a web email / free email address?

We do not accept reviews through the review form from web-based emails or free emails, such as Gmail, Yahoo Mail, Hotmail or similar. We only accept reviews from company email accounts. If you submit a review from any other email account, we may contact you to verify who you are and the company that you work for, or we may disregard the review. We think this is the best way to combat spam and introduce a verification check and balance.
Alternatively, you can email your review direct to stuart@allowlist.io and an ALLOWLIST Moderator will create the review for you.

What do you do with the email address I use for the review?

Nothing! It is used purely for the purposes of the review and to verify the review is genuine. We do not use those emails in marketing or communications, sell, share, distribute or in any other way process or make use of them.

Where is my review?

Once submitted your review will be added to a moderation queue, where checks and balances will be applied before going live. If your review does not appear and/or you are not contacted, see: Can I use a web email / free email address?

How do you verify reviews?

Reviews are sense checked and verified. First, we check that the email address links to a company and a company webpage – see the section Can I use a web email / free email address?
For 4 star reviews and above
We check to ensure that there is adequate copy and context in the review; for example, more than just ‘Great’, ‘Awesome’ or ‘.’
We sample check that the company email doing the review was / is a customer of the supplier.
For 3 star reviews and below
We know what a bad review can do so in addition to the checks for the 4-star reviews and above we allow the supplier time to remedy the issues raised. If the supplier disputes them as a customer, we seek proof of purchase of a product or service in the form of a copy invoice. We remind the reviewer of the terms of service and to note applicable laws and liabilities.

What if I get a bad review?

Sometimes these things happen. See the section: How do you verify reviews? If the review is verified and the issues were not resolved the review will be published, and all parties reminded of the terms of service and to note applicable laws and liabilities. The supplier then has the chance to work to resolve the issues and ask the reviewer for the review to be amended or reviewed.

I disagree with a review!

See What if I get a bad review. There is an option in the review to reply to review. A response can be provided to the ALLOWLIST Moderator and the review will be updated to include the response.
